Lauren Goodger
The perma-tanned, slap on make-up wearing 25 year old is portrayed as a confident, feisty, man-wanting women but in reality - she says "I am just like every other women" Hmmm..
Lauren has a bump on her nose which to any other person would not affect their entire life or career aspirations but for this self-seeking, all about me girl a nose job was in order. The £4000 nose job was to flatten the bump on her nose? Do you see a difference or do I need to but my glasses on..
Next on Laurens list her massive, over sized, horrible weight! at a size 12 she is BIG! & her fiancee mark wright agreed by quoting "We'd be more successful if you weren't so fat" - charming isn't he?
So with this in mind Lauren didn't diet, or exercise cheaply she splashed out on a £100 tablets to probably just make her lose all her food from the other end.. for that money id want a miracle - Not this!

Reality is built on prejudices, misconceptions and ignorance of the other people - DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER..
ReplyDeleteAgreed - the portrayal of women creates a patriarchal society in which we rely on the mire masculine culture - just maintains the traditional stereotypes if I'm honest.
ReplyDeleteReality TV is capable of creating moral panics and issues that are not relevant this signifies that they have the upper hand because they are able to create something out of nothing. Marxist thinkers claim that the media legitimizes the dominant beliefs and ideas and a capitalist system i.e: the unbalance of life is shown as natural, entertainment is unchallenging of this ideology therefore encourages passivity.
ReplyDeleteThe desire to consume is simply an expression of false needs. These needs are created by a cynical advertising industry, these are in contridiction to real needs such as happiness and freedom. So by buying the slimming pills Lauren feels she will be happier however this is again false needs as she does not actually need to buy the pills however through advertising she is enticed into buying them in order to look better.
ReplyDeleteThis relates back to extracts from my book 'One-dimentional man'.
